Tree Drawing Workshop - 20th April

Tansy Lee Moir is running two Tree drawing workshops at the Astley Ainslie on Saturday 20th April. To book a place, contact Maggie Carson at maggie.carson@aact.scot.

Discovering tree drawing at Astley Ainslie

This workshop will introduce you to some ways of drawing trees outdoors, inspired by the beautiful collection in the Astley Ainslie grounds. Drawing from nature is so absorbing but trees are complicated, and it can be hard to know where to start. When: Saturday 20th April 9.30am – 12.30pm

Where: Astley Ainslie Hospital grounds. Meet at the carpark in the centre of the site.

Who: Suitable for anyone new to drawing, new to drawing outdoors, or who just love trees!

Cost £45

Expressive tree drawing at Astley Ainslie

Using the stunning tree collection in the grounds of Astley Ainslie as your starting point, you will learn how to connect with the trees there, through drawing what you see. Experienced tutor and tree artist Tansy Lee Moir will demonstrate a variety of drawing approaches and materials, supporting you to create your own personal, expressive responses to the subject.

This more in-depth workshop can be combined with the morning one ‘Discovering tree drawing’ for a full day’s tree drawing experience.

Where: Astley Ainslie Hospital grounds. Meet at the carpark in the centre of the site.

Who: Suitable for anyone with some drawing experience, who want to develop their skills in an outdoor setting (and just love trees!).
