Joining Astley Ainslie Community Trust is one of the simplest and the most meaningful ways to support Astley Ainslie’s future.

Whether you join as a member, an associate member, a
Friend, or both you become part of a community-led effort to protect the site’s public value and help shape what comes next.

What joining means

There are different ways to support AACT, depending on where you live and how you would like to be involved.
Joining helps strengthen the Trust’s community voice, grow support for Astley Ainslie, and show decision-
makers that people care deeply about its future.

If you are over the age of 16, you can become a full voting member if you live within AACT’s community boundary. If you live outside AACT’s community boundary, you can become an associate member of AACT.

Become a member

If you would like to support Astley Ainslie through regular giving, you can become a Friend of AACT. For as little as the price of a cup of coffee, Friends support AACT in delivering the community's vision for the Astley Ainslie site.

Why people join AACT

“The trees and the landscaping are beautiful and important to keep, for the wildlife to keep using and everyone to enjoy.”

-EH13 0NX, Associate member

“I’m joining because I don’t want to see the hospital becoming overpriced luxury flats.”

-Morningside Drive, Member

“I’m joining because I regularly use the Astley Ainsley site with my family, for example for walks, sledging in the winter, picking blackberries and apples, and especially for safe travel from home to Morningside and my children’s primary school.”

-Esdail Park, Member

“AA is a much-appreciated local resource, but of importance to the whole city. It was donated for the health of the city, and should continue to be used as such.”

-Whitehouse Loan, Member

“Fully supportive of AACT and ambitious for the future of AA.”

-Stable Lane, Member

“I'm joining because I had wonderful care while recovering from my stroke and adored walking in the gardens - being in nature really helped my mental health and had a very positive effect on my recovery.”
